The choice for your skin

Microneedling

With us, the microneedling treatment is performed with the Dermapen 4. This is the most ultimate and advanced system where amazing results are achieved. Thanks to the digitally adjustable needle depth and needle speed, multiple skin problems can be treated in one session with the Dermapen 4.

What is Microneedling?

Microneedling is an effective skin improvement treatment. With the Dermapen we inject microneedles into the skin, these needles make controlled damage that activate the skin's repair process. This creates new tissue resulting in a fresher and more even appearance.

For the various skin problems, we work with a corresponding cocktail of active ingredients. These penetrate through the small channels deeper into the skin which provides intense rejuvenation and a fuller skin.

Benefits of Microneedling

Stimulates natural collagen production

Microneedling activates the skin's self-healing ability, producing more collagen and elastin. This results in firmer, fuller skin.

Refines fine lines and wrinkles

After several treatments, fine lines and incipient wrinkles become visibly softer.

Reduces scars and acne scars

This treatment is very effective in fading scars, especially acne scars and superficial skin damage.

Evens out skin tone

It helps with pigmentation spots, sun damage and uneven skin tone, leaving the complexion fresher and brighter.

Refines coarse pores

Due to improved skin texture and increased cell renewal, pores become less visible.

Indications for Microneedling

Microneedling stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, reducing fine lines and wrinkles and making the skin firmer. By stimulating skin renewal, the treatment can improve the structure of scars and make them less visible. The treatment refines skin texture and helps shrink coarse pores by creating new collagen. The treatment promotes skin renewal, which can fade pigmentation spots and even out the complexion.

The following common indications can be reduced or remedied with microneedling treatment:

Acne scars and other scars

For scars (especially atrophic, or deeper scars such as those caused by acne), microneedling helps by "restructuring" the tissue. The skin produces new collagen, which makes scars less deep and more even-looking.

Hyperpigmentation / Melasma

Microneedling can help with pigmentation by speeding up the skin renewal process.

Fine lines and wrinkles

Microneedling stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, which helps to make the skin firmer and smoother. This can visibly reduce fine lines and superficial wrinkles.

Skin sag

By stimulating elastin and collagen, the skin becomes firmer. This makes microneedling suitable for mild skin laxity on the face or body (such as the neck, jawline, or decollete).

Coarse pores

Microneedling can improve skin texture and make pores less visible through increased collagen production around pore openings, causing them to narrow slightly.

BeforeBeforeAfter

Before and after treatment

No self-tanners

  • Stop using self-tanning products at least 1 week before your appointment.

Avoid retinol (vitamin A)

  • Do not use products containing retinol or vitamin A for at least 3-5 days before treatment.
  • These ingredients make the skin more sensitive.

No AHA/BHA acids

  • Avoid products containing AHA/BHAs (such as glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid) for at least 3 days before treatment.

Avoid sun and tanning beds

  • No tanning bed or intense sunbathing for 7 days before treatment.
  • Tanned or sunburned skin increases the risk of irritation or pigmentation.

Report medical conditions to your practitioner. Please inform us in advance if you have any of the following conditions:

  • Skin diseases (such as eczema, psoriasis)
  • Pregnancy or breastfeeding
  • Herpes (e.g., cold sores)
  • Diabetes or other health problems

Not applying makeup

  • Do not apply makeup to the treated area for at least 48 hours to prevent congestion and irritation.

Avoid active ingredients

  • Do not use cleansing or skin care with active ingredients such as retinol, acids (AHA/BHA), vitamin C or other exfoliants for 48 hours after treatment.

Avoid sun and tanning beds

  • Stay out of direct sunlight and do not use a tanning bed. The skin is temporarily more sensitive and may burn or develop pigmentation spots more quickly.

No intense exercise or heat. Avoid for 48 hours:

  • Sports or other strenuous activities
  • Sauna, hot showers or hot baths
  • Heat can intensify the skin reaction and increase the likelihood of irritation.

Do not scrub or exfoliate

  • Do not use scrubs, exfoliating products or exfoliating tools until the skin has fully recovered.
  • Leave any flakes or scabs alone - do not pull or rub them off, this can cause scarring or pigmentation.

Frequently asked questions about Microneedling

Your skin may be red, warm and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. Sometimes small spot bleeding or slight scaling may occur. This usually recovers within 24 to 72 hours.

For optimal results, 3 to 6 treatments are usually advised at 4 to 6 week intervals. Specific skin problems such as scars may require a longer course of treatment.

It is recommended not to wear makeup for the first 24 hours to allow the skin to recover optimally. After that, use only clean makeup and an SPF.

Many people see a fresh glow within a few days. The real improvement (firmer skin, finer pores, reduction of lines) builds up in the weeks following treatment as collagen is produced.
